BVCP-7464 • Bill Monroe • The Father Of Blue Grass Music |
This CD was issued in Japan in 1997. It features all 16 of the songs and tunes that Bill Monroe recorded for the Bluebird label in the early 1940s. His band members at the time included Clyde Moody, Tommy Magness, and Art Wooten, among others. These are the first recordings that Monroe made after splitting away from his brother in 1938. Lots of interesting music here and a nice look at the earliest phase of Monroe's solo career. This CD is now out of print and we have just a few copies in stock. |
