CC-2002 • The Cumberlands • Bridging The Gap |
When Harold & Betty Thom and Jim Smoak found each other in 1962, it was folk music that caught them... the simple pleasures of harmonizing in the living room or on the back porch. A decade later, they’d become seasoned performers, veterans of the touring and recording scene. After more than 40 years, it seems they’ve managed to complete a circle they started to draw in 1962. This collection of recent recordings returns The Cumberlands to their origins; the performances have a direct innocence and a secure authority and conviction that comes from a lifetime of music making. The Original Cumberlands have returned! www.thecumberlands.net |
