CC-0216 • Kazuhiro Inaba • Teardrop On A Rose |
“Kazuhiro Inaba sings the old songs like he owns them. This album is a welcome addition to the international Country and Bluegrass music scene” – Tim O’Brien. One of Japan’s most popular and influential bluegrass/acoustic musicians is back with his second Copper Creek release. This effort finds him paying homage to classic country music. He dedicates the recording to “Hank Williams, and to those who appreciate the songs he left us.” Over half of the songs are from the Williams repertoire and the balance (from the likes of Don Reno, the Louvin Brothers, etc.) sound like ones that Hank would have delivered to perfection. Recorded in Nashville, Kazuhiro enlisted a select group of supporting pickers and singers including legendary fiddler Buddy Spicher, renowned bass player Bob Moore, and golden-voiced singers Keith Little and Kathy Chiavola. Elaborately packaged with an 18-page booklet containing the lyrics to all the songs (both in Japanese and English!) and a fine assortment of attention-grabbing photos, this is an esteemed tribute to the best of America’s country music traditions. |
