Road To Braemar introduces the Minnesota duo of Kimmel and Rosenstein. Several years ago Dick Kimmel released a well-received solo project Wild Turkey Rag (CCCD-0115) on Copper Creek. In the intervening years, Dick solidified his partnership with singer and guitarist Leo Rosenstein. Together, Dick and Leo have assembled an enjoyable collection that mixes quite a few new Rosenstein/Kimmel originals with several seasoned chestnuts. The title track is an instrumental by Dick that recalls the mystic beauty and gently rolling hillsides of Scotland. Band members Jed Malischke and Paul Horrisberger are ably assisted by guests Brian Wicklund, Kevin Barnes, Art Bjorngjeld, and Gordie Abel to produce a satisfying collection of traditional bluegrass.
